About Sophia:
Questions were answered by Vivian (Sophia's Mother)
What values or life lessons do you strive to instill in your child, and how do they embody those values?
As a parent, I strive to raise my child with values that will guide not just who they become, but also how they treat others and contribute to society. Being a firm believer that a better society starts within the family, I seek to instill integrity, kindness, respect, resilience, responsibility, and empathy. One parenting moment that particularly stands out to me happened when my child made a mistake and was initially afraid to tell me the truth. Instead of focusing on the mistake itself, I reassured her that telling the truth was more important than avoiding punishment. We discussed what had happened, took responsibility for the consequences, and talked about what could be done differently next time. That moment taught us that integrity is not merely about knowing what is right; it is having the courage to do what is right, even when it is difficult. I also emphasize respect . Both for parents and elders, teachers, for peers, for differences, and for every individual regardless of status. I teach daughter that kindness is never a sign of weakness. I encourage them to notice when someone needs help, to share, to speak kindly, and to understand that even the smallest act of compassion can make a meaningful difference in another person’s life. This she has started practicing being an eldest child. I teach resilience by allowing my child to experience age-appropriate challenges rather than solving every problem for them. Responsibility is another value I hold dearly. My daughter is encouraged to take ownership of their choices, keep promises, and understand that every action has consequences. I believe that raising a responsible child means preparing them not simply to succeed in life, but to become someone others can trust. A trustworthy crowned star! Most importantly, I strive to lead by example. Children learn as much from what we do as from what we tell them. Therefore, I consciously try to demonstrate the honesty, compassion, discipline, and respect I want my child to embody. My greatest hope is to raise a child who is confident without being arrogant, successful without losing humility, and strong without losing compassion. A child who understands that true character is revealed not by what we have, but by how we treat people when there is nothing to gain in return. Because, ultimately, my greatest achievement as a parent will not be raising a child who simply knows how to succeed, but raising a human being who knows how to make the world a little better by being in it.
What aspirations or dreams does your child have for their future? How do they plan to achieve them?
She wants to be a legal practitioner. How they she plans to achieve it is by good and continued learning. Having a parent that practices in the field that would want to venture has become an added benefit as she gets to have daily formal and informal opportunities to learn, brow and be a crown star in her chosen career.
What do you believe makes Sophia truly special and deserving to win this contest?
A Next Child Star is not just a child who can perform well; it is a child who can inspire, connect, learn, and leave a positive impression wherever they go. My girl stands out because of a beautiful combination of confidence, curiosity, resilience, and compassion. She is not afraid to express themselves, but they are also willing to listen, learn, and appreciate others. What I believe makes my daughter especially fit for the Next Child Star platform is their ability to bring joy and authenticity into what they do. I want them to understand that winning is wonderful, but the real victory is having the courage to participate, the grace to celebrate others, and the character to remain grounded regardless of the outcome. If given the opportunity to be a Next Star, I believe my daughter would not only showcase their talent but also represent the values that truly matter! For me, a star is not merely the child who gets the loudest applause; it is the child whose light inspires others to shine too. And that is the kind of star I am raising.
